Walk to Second Saturday from Tapestri Square

If you're going to live at Tapestri Square then it's time you got familiar with the Sacramento midtown scene. This Saturday, November 12th, get introduced to the city's popular Second Saturday Art Walk - a growing event where local art galleries feature new shows of individual and collective artists, wine tastings, hors d’oeuvres and live music. Second Saturday takes place 12 months a year, rain or shine, and the recent shift to fall weather is sure to bring something new to the event (think warmer tones, hot drinks, seasonal plates, and a cozier pace).

To avoid traffic and crowds, plan to walk or ride your bike from Tapestri Square. Make sure you pick up a Sacramento News & Review for all of the area's exhibits, or download a free map to help chart your course.

We were lucky to have one of Second Saturday’s participating artists come through our doors earlier this month. Her name is Karen Dukes, and we practically drooled over her playful puppy prints! We felt she was a very a Midtown-appropriate artist as Midtown is such an incredibly dog-friendly city, and these are portraits of pooches that you may very well see when out on the town! And they've got quite the personalities - in fact the collection is titled, "Dogs with Attitude".

She will be featuring pieces from her "Dogs With Attitude" portfolio, as well as her "Botanical" collection.

Find her at the Sacramento Art Complex - 2110 K Street, Sacramento, CA - Studio 11! You can walk away with art, prints, a magnet, or simply a funny puppy grin - Karen's work is a must-see this Saturday.

She will atually be painting during the Second Saturday event, so you can see the real artist at work!
